The local access number, or STD code, for Hyderabad is 040. This number can be used to connect with a landline telephone number from anywhere in India.
However, if calling from outside of India the number you will need is 40. This is because when calling India from abroad you need to drop the zero from the STD code, replacing it with the India national access code of +91, making the prefix +91 40.
